Geography of Montenegro

Montenegro is a small, mountainous state in south-west Balkans. Montenegro borders Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and the Adriatic Sea. While being a small country at 13,812 km² (5,332 sq mi), it is very diverse regarding the terrain configuration.

Considering the fact that Montenegro is mostly surrounded by steep mountains, (Highest point- Zla Kolata – 2,534 m) which offer beautiful sights, the climate varies with elevation. But, in general, a tourist shall expect a hot and dry summer with a mild damp winter and with a lot of rain in the mountains all seasons.
